A tragic incident occurred in Majitha, Amritsar rural, as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Joga Singh of Punjab Police was fatally shot by unidentified assailants while en route to duty. The incident has raised concerns regarding law and order and security preparations during the upcoming Municipal Council elections. ASI Joga Singh, a resident of Ghaniye village serving with the Amritsar Police, was attacked near Hamza Morh on the Fatehgarh Churian Road. The attackers fired four rounds, resulting in his immediate death.
The deceased officer’s body was discovered with gunshot wounds by authorities on the Fatehgarh-Choriya Majitha Road. Following the report, Majitha Police and senior officers swiftly responded to the scene, initiating an investigation. The area was secured, and forensic teams were deployed to gather evidence. CCTV footage from nearby locations was obtained by the police to aid in identifying the perpetrators.
