Atal Innovation Mission recently held the Regional AIM SUMVAAD – Central India Edition in Indore to enhance collaboration among government, industry, academia, startups, and incubators. The event aimed to foster inclusive entrepreneurship and innovation-led growth through partnerships. Representatives from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, along with various stakeholders, participated in the conclave.
Discussions at the summit revolved around strengthening incubation ecosystems, scaling state-led innovation initiatives, and enhancing coordination among different sectors. The focus was on driving economic growth through innovation and creating opportunities for startups in emerging fields. Deepak Bagla, Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission, emphasized the crucial role of incubators in nurturing a vibrant startup ecosystem.
Himanshu Rai from IIM Indore highlighted the shift in India’s startup landscape towards DeepTech innovation, emphasizing the need for patient capital and long-term research focus. Viraj Bhanage, Director of Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, stressed the importance of incubators in supporting startups and fostering collaborations. Dr. Abha Rishi, Executive Head of Madhya Pradesh Startup Centre, underlined the significance of incubators in driving entrepreneurship nationwide.
A special session during the event focused on developing effective people and culture in incubation centers to create sustainable entrepreneurship models adaptable to market changes.
