Ademola Lookman’s goal helped Atletico Madrid secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League semifinals, defeating FC Barcelona 3-2 on aggregate. Barcelona initially surged with goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres, but Lookman’s finish turned the tide in Atleti’s favor.

Barcelona’s early dominance saw Yamal and Torres scoring, but Lookman’s strike in the 31st minute put Atletico back in the lead. Despite Barcelona’s efforts in the second half, Atleti’s solid defense held firm, with Eric Garcia’s late red card further hampering Barcelona’s chances.

Diego Simeone, Atletico’s coach, expressed pride in the team’s performance, highlighting their resilience over the years. Atletico will now await the winner between Arsenal and Sporting CP for the semifinal clash.

Atletico Madrid has reached the UEFA Champions League semifinals six times before, facing teams like Real Madrid, Celtic FC, Ajax, Chelsea, and Bayern München. Their last semifinal appearance was in the 2016/17 season.
