Australia defeated India by six wickets in the opening ODI, chasing down a target of 215 with ease. Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney led Australia to victory with half-centuries. Despite India’s efforts, the team fell short on a pitch offering seam movement and spin grip.

Opting to bat first, India faced early setbacks with the dismissals of Pratika Rawal and Shafali Verma. Smriti Mandhana’s composed 58 stabilized the innings, but Australia’s bowlers struck at crucial moments. Ashleigh Gardner and Tahlia McGrath took key wickets, while Alana King controlled the middle overs.

In response, Healy and Phoebe Litchfield provided a solid start for Australia, adding 55 runs for the opening wicket. Healy’s elegant 50 and Mooney’s steady partnership ensured Australia’s dominance. Despite brief setbacks from Shree Charani, Mooney’s polished 76 guided Australia to victory.

Annabel Sutherland’s unbeaten 42 sealed the win for Australia, maintaining control till the end. The clinical performance by Australia leveled the multiformat series at 4-4.
