Authorities in Chhattisgarh’s Mahasamund district have confirmed the destruction of illicit narcotic substances worth Rs 1,59,84,520 as part of their crackdown on drug-related offenses. The disposal included banned substances like brown sugar, heroin, syrups, tablets, capsules, and injection ampoules, following government regulations. The contraband, seized in various cases across the district, was destroyed under the supervision of the District-Level Drugs Disposal Committee.
The total value of the destroyed narcotics was estimated at Rs 1,59,84,520. These substances were seized in connection with 35 separate cases registered at different police stations in Mahasamund district. Among the items destroyed were brown sugar, heroin, syrup bottles, capsules, tablets, and injection ampoules. The disposal process took place at the Bio-Medical Waste Plant (SMS) in Siltara, Raipur, under the oversight of the District-Level Drugs Disposal Committee.
Geographically, the cases were spread across various police stations in the district, with multiple cases registered over the years. These enforcement efforts reflect a commitment to preventing the re-entry of such substances into circulation and combating drug-related crimes in the region. The destruction of seized narcotics is part of routine enforcement measures to curb illegal drug activities effectively.
