As the investigation into the Ram Temple donation theft case progresses, Ayodhya police have acquired land and bank records of the accused to determine if these assets are considered “proceeds of crime.” The police have obtained records for about 20 land parcels from the Revenue Department and are currently verifying them. Key details being examined include the dates of property purchases and the accused individuals’ association with the Ram Mandir Trust.
Earlier, the police seized a vehicle as “proceeds of crime” based on information provided by the main accused, Avinash Shukla. Investigators have also identified the location where the accused allegedly divided the stolen money among themselves. Avinash Shukla, during police remand, pinpointed the spot near the 14-Kosi Parikrama route where the cash was distributed among the group members.
Acting on Shukla’s disclosure, officials recovered a valuable item concealed near the same site, believed to be crucial evidence for the case. This recovery has provided fresh leads for the investigation team to understand the alleged conspiracy further. The police are now examining if there are more hidden evidence or valuables and verifying statements made during the remand.
The probe into the high-profile Ram Temple donation theft case continues, with officials set to question the remaining accused and analyze the evidence before proceeding with further submissions in court. A total of eight accused were arrested in connection with the alleged theft at the temple, following a complaint by a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The case was filed after an SIT report highlighted irregularities at various levels.
