The Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport administration in Guwahati successfully returned an unattended bag containing foreign currency valued at more than Rs 10 lakh to its owner. The bag, discovered during routine security screening on June 26, held 10,720 US dollars, 175 Chinese yuan, medicines, and personal items.
Airport officials identified the passenger through the bag’s label and medicine details, confirming the individual had departed for Hyderabad. A collaborative effort involving the CISF, Lost and Found team at LGBI Airport, and Hyderabad airport authorities was initiated to locate the passenger. Following verification procedures, the bag was safely handed over to an authorized representative of the passenger.
The incident showcased the airport’s effective security measures and passenger services, emphasizing the seamless coordination among different agencies. It underscored the airport’s dedication to providing a safe and passenger-friendly travel environment.
