Spiritual leader Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Baba, has strongly criticized the recent assaults on Hindus in Bangladesh, warning of the potential threat to the minority community’s existence. He expressed concern over the violence, citing incidents like the lynching of Amrit Mandal and Dipu Chandra Das.
Shastri urged Hindus in India to stand together and support their Bangladeshi counterparts in the face of adversity. He called on the Indian government to take decisive action, including assisting persecuted Bangladeshi Hindus seeking refuge in India and addressing the issue of illegal immigrants, particularly Rohingya refugees.
Highlighting the importance of preserving Hindu identity in Bangladesh, Shastri emphasized the need for immediate intervention to prevent forced conversions and other threats to the community. He also responded to criticism from former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel regarding his charitable work and spiritual practices.
Addressing concerns raised by Baghel, Shastri clarified that donations received are utilized for social welfare initiatives, such as supporting underprivileged girls’ marriages and establishing cancer hospitals. He emphasized the role of both divine grace and medical intervention in addressing different needs, stressing the importance of practical solutions alongside spiritual beliefs.
The spiritual leader’s remarks come amidst growing tensions between India and Bangladesh regarding minority safety issues, with calls for enhanced protection for Hindus in both countries. Shastri’s ongoing event in Bhilai has attracted significant attendance, reflecting widespread interest in his message of unity and support for the community.
