Leading Baloch human rights defender Mir Yar Baloch has expressed serious concerns to Kaja Kallas, the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, regarding Pakistan being designated as a counter-terrorism partner despite allegations of supporting extremist groups. Mir highlighted the contradiction in partnering with a state linked to militancy and extremist networks. He emphasized the need for an impartial investigation into human rights abuses in Balochistan if Pakistan’s GSP+ status is tied to human rights compliance.

Mir urged international bodies to visit Balochistan to assess the situation firsthand and listen to the voices of affected families and victims of enforced disappearances. He called for a fair application of human rights principles in Balochistan, similar to other global conflicts, by the EU.
