At least three Baloch civilians were reportedly extrajudicially killed, and five others were forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Balochistan. The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department disclosed that a Baloch student named Shayhaq Raheem was found dead with bullet wounds in the Turbat region. This incident is part of a troubling pattern of human rights violations in Balochistan, where individuals, especially students and young people, are abducted and later found deceased.
In a separate case, the mutilated body of 18-year-old Sabzal Baloch was discovered in the Gwadar district nearly eight months after his enforced disappearance. Sabzal was allegedly taken by Pakistan’s Frontier Corps on July 25, 2025, and his body was found in the Pelari area. Another Baloch youth, Israr Baloch, was unlawfully detained, tortured, and killed in Quetta. He was detained by Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department on March 22, handed over to Military Intelligence, and later returned in critical condition, succumbing to his injuries.
The Baloch rights body has strongly condemned these actions and called for an independent investigation to hold those responsible accountable. Amid a rise in enforced disappearances in Balochistan, reports emerged of more civilians being taken by Pakistani forces, including a student named Fida Taj. Criticism has been directed at the ongoing practice of enforced disappearances, with two civilians, Noor Ahmed Khajani and Noor Zaman Khajani, reportedly disappearing in the Barkhan district. Balochistan continues to face severe human rights abuses, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings by Pakistani forces.
