The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has asserted responsibility for 23 recent operations in Balochistan, targeting Pakistani forces. These attacks, occurring over the past 10 days, led to the death of 16 security personnel and injuries to others. The BLA spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch, stated that the operations aimed at security forces, infrastructure, and vehicles linked to what the group termed as “exploitative projects.”
The BLA’s activities between June 21 and 30 included seizing control of locations in the Kharan district for two days. During these operations, the group claimed the destruction of two bridges and the killing of seven Pakistani personnel. Additionally, the BLA targeted Pakistani forces in various areas, destroying surveillance equipment and engaging in intense clashes resulting in casualties.
On June 25, the BLA blocked roads in Mastung and Nushki, seizing and setting ablaze several freight vehicles. The group alleged that these vehicles were associated with projects it opposes. Furthermore, the BLA reported clashes in different regions, including attacks on security personnel, checkpoints, and vehicles, along with the destruction of machinery at a construction company camp.
The BLA’s actions extended to torching vehicles, seizing supplies, and conducting attacks on police and military patrols in various locations. The group emphasized its opposition to state-backed development projects in Balochistan, vowing to persist in its armed operations until achieving what it terms as “Balochistan’s independence.”
