The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has asserted responsibility for an assault on a Pakistan Coast Guards camp in Balochistan’s Gwadar district, resulting in the deaths of over 30 security personnel and injuries to many others. The attack, orchestrated by the BLA’s Majeed Brigade member who rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the camp, caused significant destruction. The BLA’s media outlet, Hakkal, released a video showing the attack and subsequent damage to the camp.
The BLA’s Fateh Squad fighters launched an assault on the damaged camp after the explosion, targeting surviving military personnel. The group engaged the Coast Guard personnel closely, leading to a death toll exceeding 30 Pakistani military members and leaving many seriously injured or trapped under debris. The BLA emphasized its commitment to continuing attacks against Pakistani forces until achieving “complete independence of Balochistan.”
The BLA recently claimed responsibility for 23 operations in Balochistan targeting Pakistani forces, resulting in the deaths of 16 security personnel and injuries to others. These operations, conducted between June 21 and 30, aimed at security forces, infrastructure, and vehicles associated with what the BLA termed “exploitative projects.” Additionally, the group conducted an “economic blockade” by targeting routes and commercial vehicles.
