A woman commander in the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Shaynaz Baloch, has emphasized the historical, political, and armed contributions of Baloch women in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. She called for active participation based on knowledge and wisdom rather than mere symbolism. Shaynaz criticized Pakistan for exploiting women in state institutions and military roles, urging Baloch women to resist silently in the face of oppression.
The BLA released footage showcasing armed female fighters, with Shaynaz as the central figure, signaling a shift in the conflict’s phase. She warned Pakistani forces that Baloch women will no longer be easy targets and vowed to continue the struggle until Pakistan’s rule in Balochistan ends. Shaynaz, who has risen through the BLA ranks without facing gender discrimination, stated her commitment to protecting Balochistan’s freedom.
Recently, the BLA claimed responsibility for an attack on a shuttle of the Jaffar Express in Balochistan. The attack targeted Army personnel on the train, resulting in casualties and injuries. The incident led to derailment and overturning of coaches, with a significant number of fatalities and injuries reported. The BLA’s fidayeen unit, “Majeed Brigade,” was identified as the perpetrators of the attack.
