Naseem Baloch, the chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), criticized Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif for blaming Afghanistan for terrorism. Baloch emphasized that such accusations indicate Islamabad’s policy failures. Asif had linked Afghanistan to insecurity in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
Naseem, on social media, accused the Pakistani government of spreading propaganda against Balochistan’s national movement. He highlighted that Pakistan’s rulers have previously blamed various countries to justify their occupation of Balochistan. Naseem clarified that the struggle in Balochistan aims at regaining freedom and will persist until achieving its goal.
The BNM chairperson asserted that Pakistan is an “occupying state” and cannot suppress the legitimate rights of the Baloch people. He stated that historical evidence shows national liberation movements cannot be permanently subdued by force. Naseem urged Asif to learn from the United States’ history and emphasized that Balochistan will continue its fight for freedom.
Expressing concern over the secretive trials of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders, Naseem criticized the lack of transparency in the legal proceedings. He highlighted the pattern of aggression against Baloch voices, including enforced disappearances and politically motivated prosecutions. Naseem stressed the importance of open and fair trials as fundamental rights demanded by BYC.
