The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a protest march in Germany’s Bonn to raise awareness about the critical situation in Balochistan and the human rights violations by Pakistani forces. Protesters at the Marktplatz expressed solidarity with victims of state aggression and demanded justice for those affected. They criticized the “faceless trials” targeting leaders of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) as a violation of human rights and justice principles.
Participants highlighted the suspension of constitutional and legal rights in Balochistan, where the Pakistan Army operates with impunity. They specifically mentioned the opaque judicial processes against BYC leaders, including Mahrang Baloch, where the identities of court staff and witnesses are concealed. The protesters strongly condemned attacks on Baloch activists’ homes, reporting looting and demolitions, and the pressure on families of enforced disappearance victims to disown their missing loved ones publicly.
During the demonstration, calls were made for an independent fact-finding mission by the international community to investigate human rights abuses in Balochistan. Protesters urged the European Union and other global powers to prioritize these concerns in their engagements with Pakistan. They emphasized the importance of human rights and accountability in international relations, urging EU member states to evaluate their ties with Pakistan based on human rights protection.
