A Baloch student organization has expressed deep concern over the tragic deaths of nearly a dozen laborers in the Kuntani area of Gwadar district, Balochistan. The Baloch Students Organization Azad (BSO-Azad) described the incident as a “massacre” allegedly carried out by Pakistani forces, highlighting a broader pattern of Baloch genocide.
The organization stated that Baloch civilians living under Pakistani occupation face severe economic hardships, being forced to work in harsh conditions. They mentioned a similar incident in Jewani a few months ago where two laborers lost their lives. According to BSO-Azad, Baloch civilians are compelled to work in extremely difficult circumstances while security forces allegedly extort bribes from them.
The BSO-Azad accused Pakistani security personnel of engaging in oppressive actions against Baloch civilians, including beating, humiliating, and destroying their vehicles and shops. They emphasized that the Kuntani massacre is part of a larger pattern of violence against innocent Baloch people by the Pakistani state, leading to a severe economic crisis in the region.
The organization called on the people of Balochistan, human rights groups, and concerned individuals to protest against and raise awareness about the “Kuntani massacre.” In a separate incident in Gwadar, two individuals were injured in a drone attack near Hotani Bazaar of Dasht Shuleeg area, as reported by local media sources.
