The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has expressed deep concern regarding the widespread human rights violations in Balochistan, particularly highlighting the increased abuses against civilians, especially women, by Pakistani security forces. According to the BWF’s report titled “Baloch Women Victimisation in 2025”, there has been a significant surge in enforced disappearances of women in Balochistan, particularly noted since December 2025. The report also points out that Pakistani forces’ indiscriminate firing and other forms of harassment have had a severe impact on Baloch society.
The past year has seen a coordinated crackdown on Baloch political parties and activists, with a specific focus on women activists who have faced arrests, irregular court trials, and ongoing harassment. The BWF emphasized that the victimization of Baloch women has been a longstanding state policy, which intensified in 2025. With documented cases of enforced disappearances, including some still missing, released, or executed, Baloch women continue to live in fear of persecution, necessitating immediate action for societal peace and stability.
The report highlights the prevalence of extrajudicial killings in Balochistan, including targeted murders, fake encounters, in-custody deaths, and staged killings. Balochistan has become synonymous with serious human rights abuses and a lack of accountability for these atrocities. The BWF mentioned a case from 2025 where a mother-daughter duo was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces in Panjgur district, leading to severe abuses and the daughter’s eventual death, while the perpetrators remain at large, allegedly with state support.
Baloch women have been direct victims of violence, enduring torture during illegal detentions, indiscriminate firing, and other abuses by Pakistani forces. Despite enforced disappearances being recognized as severe human rights violations both internationally and within Pakistan’s constitution, the practice persists nationwide, with an increasing number of Baloch women falling victim to this injustice. The BWF strongly condemns the enforced disappearances of Baloch women and urges authorities to address the issue urgently to prevent further deterioration of the situation, as such actions challenge the broader interests of Baloch society.
