Sammi Deen Baloch, a member of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), expressed concern over the escalating turmoil in Balochistan, labeling the region as “ablaze” due to deteriorating law and order. Areas like Ziarat are witnessing violence, with unrest spreading to Quetta and Hanna Urak. Criticizing Pakistani authorities, Sammi accused them of blaming nationalists and human rights activists for the chaos instead of addressing the root causes.
The activist highlighted the failure of media and civil society to hold the government accountable for its policies and security lapses. She emphasized the need for officials to take responsibility and resign in the face of such crises, rather than shifting blame onto others. BYC also condemned retaliatory actions by Pakistani forces against Asghar Ali’s family in Gwadar, terming it as part of a broader policy of Baloch genocide.
BYC alleged that the state’s actions, including demolishing homes and displacing citizens without legal basis, indicate a systematic approach of collective punishment. The organization reported an increase in incidents where Pakistani forces have destroyed properties and forcibly evicted residents, leading to a dire situation in Balochistan. Such actions, according to BYC, contribute to the suffering and anguish of the Baloch people.
