Bangladesh has revealed their 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with Nigar Sultana Joty leading the team. Spinner Nahida Akter will serve as vice-captain as the team gears up for their seventh appearance in the tournament. The squad’s confidence is high following an impressive unbeaten run in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Global Qualifier earlier this year.
They are looking to capitalize on their success in the 2024 edition, where they kicked off with a notable 16-run win against Scotland. Over time, Bangladesh has evolved into a competitive T20 side, boasting a mix of seasoned players and emerging talents. Captain Nigar Sultana will spearhead the batting lineup, while the bowling department will rely on Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan, and Marufa Akter, with young prospects like Shorna Akter and Dilara Akter expected to make significant contributions.
Ahead of the World Cup, Bangladesh will participate in a tri-series in Edinburgh involving Scotland and Netherlands starting May 25. Subsequently, they will head to Loughborough for warm-up matches before the main event. The team’s World Cup journey commences on June 14 against Netherlands at Edgbaston in Birmingham, followed by matches against Australia, Pakistan, India, and South Africa in the group stage.
