Bangladesh’s Shadman Islam will miss the second Test against Pakistan due to a chest injury sustained during the first Test in Mirpur. Zakir Hasan has been called in as his replacement for the upcoming match in Sylhet.

Shadman suffered a chest contusion while attempting a catch in the first Test, as confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board. This injury setback comes after Bangladesh’s recent victory over Pakistan in Mirpur.

Bangladesh’s win marked their third consecutive Test victory against Pakistan and their first-ever home Test win against the visitors. The team will now rely on Zakir Hasan, known for his aggressive batting, to fill in for Shadman in the upcoming Test match.

Pakistan’s resistance in the first Test was led by debutant Abdullah Fazal, who scored 66 runs. However, Bangladesh’s bowlers, including Nahid Rana with a remarkable 5/40 spell, played a crucial role in securing the victory.
