Bangladesh is cautioned about Pakistan’s ulterior motive of advancing its anti-India agenda by using Bangladeshi soil for terrorism, disregarding the consequences, as per a report. Despite growing ties between Dhaka and Islamabad, vigilance is urged to prevent terrorist activities against India from Bangladesh. The report recalls Pakistan’s brutal military campaign in East Pakistan in 1971 and highlights the exploitation of religious sentiments by Pakistan to foster radical Islamist groups in Bangladesh.

The report emphasizes that Pakistan has taken advantage of vulnerabilities in Bangladesh to support radical Islamist groups and incite anti-Hindu sentiments to target India. It calls for India to be prepared and proactive in countering this threat. The upcoming government in Bangladesh is advised to prevent the promotion of religious radicalism, drawing lessons from Pakistan’s example where radicalization spiraled out of control.
