Bangladesh, after a shaky start at 48/4, posted a total of 123/6 with skipper Nigar Sultana and Shorna Akter contributing crucial runs.
Pakistan, in response, started well but collapsed as Bangladesh’s bowlers, especially Nigar Sultana, turned the game around. Pakistan lost six wickets for just 14 runs, finishing at 100/8 in 20 overs. Sanjida Akter Meghla and Nahida Akter starred with the ball, each picking up three wickets.
This victory marked Bangladesh’s first win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, moving them to four points from two matches. Pakistan, on the other hand, suffered their third consecutive defeat in the tournament. Earlier, Pakistan’s bowlers, led by skipper Fatima Sana, restricted Bangladesh to 123/6 despite fighting knocks from Nigar Sultana and Shorna Akter.
