In New Jersey, BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham hosted a flag-hoisting event attended by veterans and the community, symbolizing gratitude and unity through waving American flags. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, the BAPS temple conducted a flag-raising ceremony with local veterans and opened its doors to share its culture and commitment to service. State Representative Brian Lorenz in Los Angeles emphasized the significance of reflecting on America’s foundational principles and enduring values during the celebration.
In Houston, the mayors of Sugar Land, Missouri City, Pearland, and Stafford participated in the festivities, where the temple was lit up in patriotic colors and the national anthem played. The events focused on religious freedom, pluralism, and community service, engaging participants in interfaith dialogues, volunteer work, and family-oriented programs. BAPS spiritual leader Mahant Swami Maharaj’s letter offered prayers for America’s milestone, acknowledging the country’s freedoms that have enabled diverse communities to thrive and contribute to society.
