Jaipur, Aug 8 (IANS) Effective coordination between the Bench and the Bar is essential to ensure justice to aggrieved parties and expedite the disposal of cases at the Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Jaipur, said Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain, Chairperson of the Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunal (DRAT), Delhi.

Justice Jain was speaking at a special interactive session and felicitation ceremony organised by the DRT Bar Association, Jaipur, at the Constitution Club.

He was the chief guest at the event and interacted with advocates on various judicial and institutional issues. The DRT Bar Association felicitated Justice Jain in the presence of a large gathering of advocates, representatives of banks and financial institutions, and other stakeholders associated with the functioning of the tribunal.

During the programme, Justice Jain appreciated the efforts of Vimal Gupta, Presiding Officer of DRT Jaipur, towards strengthening judicial administration and improving institutional functioning. He acknowledged initiatives aimed at expediting case disposal, promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and Lok Adalats, and strengthening cooperation between the Bench, Bar and other stakeholders.

Speakers emphasised that constructive coordination among these stakeholders is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of judicial institutions. An interactive session between Justice Jain and members of the Bar was a key highlight of the programme. Discussions covered judicial procedures relating to DRT and DRAT matters, professional conduct of advocates, alternative dispute resolution, institutional cooperation and the role of young lawyers in strengthening the justice delivery system.

Advocates raised questions directly with Justice Jain and sought guidance on various professional and judicial issues, benefiting from his extensive judicial experience. A special publication titled Reimagining Recovery, Reinforcing Justice – A Journey of Reform, Innovation, and Justice was unveiled during the event.

The publication documents the institutional journey of DRT Jaipur and highlights various initiatives undertaken during the tenure of Presiding Officer Vimal Gupta. It covers judicial administration, technology‑driven initiatives, Lok Adalats, alternative dispute resolution, participation of young advocates, Bar‑Bench cooperation and engagement with banks.

Speakers stressed that constructive Bar‑Bench relations, professional discipline and institutional commitment are vital to strengthening the justice delivery system. They also called for a solution‑oriented approach to DRT‑related matters and greater coordination among all stakeholders.

The programme was organised with the support of the DRT Bar Association, Jaipur, whose office‑bearers and members played a key role in its conduct. Association President Kirti Kapoor, General Secretary Rajkumar and DRT Special Lok Adalat Convener Anil Sharma were among those associated with the event.

Association members expressed gratitude to Justice Jain for his presence and guidance, noting that such interactions provide young advocates with valuable exposure to judicial experience and institutional functioning.

The programme concluded with a dinner hosted at the Constitution Club, where members of the Bar interacted with Justice Jain and other guests in an informal and cordial setting. Participants described the event as insightful and significant in strengthening professional and institutional engagement between the Bench and the Bar.
