Bayer Leverkusen secured a spot in the German Cup semifinals by defeating St. Pauli 3-0 at home. St. Pauli had an early chance to score from a corner, but failed to convert. Leverkusen initially struggled but eventually took the lead after Martin Terrier’s goal past the half-hour mark.

St. Pauli continued to press, missing a crucial opportunity to equalize before halftime. Leverkusen extended their lead in the 63rd minute with Patrik Schick’s goal. Despite some late efforts from St. Pauli, Leverkusen maintained control and sealed the victory with a third goal in stoppage time.

The win propels Bayer Leverkusen into the semifinals, with the final four set to be drawn on February 22. The semifinals are scheduled for April 21 and 22, with the final slated for May 23 in Berlin. Leverkusen captain Robert Andrich acknowledged the need for improvement despite the win, emphasizing the importance of advancing in the cup competition.
