Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich’s coach, Vincent Kompany, commends Harry Kane for elevating his performance since joining the team, ahead of their UEFA Champions League semifinal clash with Paris Saint-Germain at Allianz Arena. Kane, who scored and provided crucial assists in the first leg, has shown significant improvement in his overall game since moving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
Kompany highlighted that Kane was previously perceived primarily as a goalscorer during his time in England, but his abilities now extend beyond that. The coach emphasized Kane’s football intelligence and leadership qualities, which were somewhat underestimated before.
Comparing Kane’s progress to fine wine that gets better with time, Kompany praised the striker’s continuous development. In the first leg against PSG, Kane demonstrated his versatility by setting up Bayern’s fourth goal with a precise pass to Luis Diaz, showcasing his all-round skills.
Bayern’s supervisory board member, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, expressed the club’s readiness to initiate contract extension talks with Kane, whose current deal runs until 2027. Rummenigge confirmed that discussions will commence post the season, reflecting a unanimous decision by the club’s leadership.
