The BCCI revealed a 15-member squad led by Harmanpreet Kaur for the upcoming 2026 Asian Games. This squad mirrors the one from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, with G Kamalini replacing Yastika Bhatia as the only change. India, the defending champions, will participate in the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4.
Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana will lead India’s batting lineup. Deepti Sharma will anchor the middle order, while Richa Ghosh and Kamalini will handle wicketkeeping duties. The pace attack will be led by Renuka Singh Thakur and Arundhati Reddy, with the spin department featuring Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil.
Shreyanka’s inclusion in the final squad is contingent on fitness clearance after a recent injury. Cricket has been retained for the 2026 Asian Games after its successful inclusion in 2022, marking its fourth appearance in the event’s program. The sport first appeared as a medal event in the Asian Games in 2010 and returned in 2014, although matches were not internationally recognized.
