The Glory Hill memorial complex in the capital hosted an exhibition of wartime artifacts, offering a tangible link to the past struggles.
In Mogilev, high school students paid tribute through a “Victory Waltz” dance event, symbolizing respect for soldiers and the return of peace. Gomel commemorated the day with a military parade on Lenin Square, honoring those who fought for Belarus’s freedom during World War II. President Alexander Lukashenko highlighted the significance of May 9, 1945, as a sacred date for all Belarusians, emphasizing the country’s role in maintaining global peace.
Russia also marked the 81st anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory in the Great Patriotic War. Moscow displayed the slogan “No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten,” emphasizing the enduring importance of Victory Day. The capital adorned with white, blue, and red banners bearing the word “Victory,” paid tribute to the Soviet triumph over Nazi Germany. A grand military parade on Red Square honored the wartime victory.
