Bengaluru-based Bharat1.AI revealed its intention to establish a ‘Humanity-First AI City’ in the city. The city aims to accommodate over 10,000 AI researchers and innovators by the end of the year. This initiative is designed for model training, fine-tuning, and inference in the field of artificial intelligence.
The company described the project as a city-scale research and infrastructure endeavor focused on advancing Agentic and Physical AI systems in practical settings. The B1 AI Superpark, a 5 lakh sq. ft. AI research and innovation campus in Sarjapura, will serve as a hub for various leading Indian institutions involved in foundational research partnerships.
In its initial phase, the project will focus on developing universal basic intelligence frameworks under controlled real-world conditions. It aims to create open city-scale world models using high-quality multimodal data and establish robust validation layers for agentic and physical AI systems before widespread deployment. The campus will offer high-speed connectivity up to 400 Gbps to major AI cloud platforms with minimal latency, facilitating large-scale experimentation without data bottlenecks.
Over the next three years, the initiative will expand beyond the Superpark to create a broader AI City testbed. This expansion will allow Indian and global organizations to test and implement AI systems in dynamic urban-scale environments. Umakant Soni, Co-Founder and CEO of Bharat1.AI, emphasized the importance of validating systems in real-world scenarios to mitigate risks and ensure safety, verifiability, and alignment with human values.
The India AI Impact Summit, a significant artificial intelligence event in the Global South, is currently ongoing. The summit has attracted world leaders, policymakers, industry executives, and other key figures. With over 100 government representatives, including heads of state and ministers, along with 500 global AI leaders in attendance, the five-day summit, concluding on February 20, serves as a platform for discussions and collaborations in the field of artificial intelligence.
