The Bengaluru City Police have located the sender of a hoax bomb threat email to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters in Bengaluru. The accused, identified in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was found to be mentally ill. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
A press note from the Bengaluru City Commissioner of Police revealed that the ISRO headquarters received the threatening email on July 2, prompting immediate action by the police. Despite a thorough search, no suspicious items related to the threat were discovered, confirming it as a hoax.
Following a complaint, the Sanjaynagar Police initiated an investigation and formed a special team to track down the sender. Through digital analysis, the police traced the email’s origin to Ghaziabad, where the suspect, identified as Nishanth Tyagi, was apprehended.
Nishanth Tyagi, described as mentally unstable by the Bengaluru City Police, allegedly used an electronic device to send the threatening email. Forensic examination of the device confirmed its involvement in the incident. The investigation continues as authorities delve further into the case.
