Defence public sector company Bharat Dynamics Limited disclosed a 59.5% decrease in profits for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. The company’s earnings dropped to Rs 113 crore in the quarter ending March 31, compared to Rs 273 crore in the same period the previous year. Revenue from operations also saw a significant decline of 73% year-on-year to Rs 480 crore in the January-March quarter, down from Rs 1,777 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal year.
At the operational level, EBITDA fell by 81.5% to Rs 55.2 crore in the quarter under review, as opposed to Rs 299 crore reported in Q4 FY25. The EBITDA margin decreased to 11.5% from 16.8% in the year-ago period. Profit before tax stood at Rs 153 crore for the March quarter, a decrease from Rs 378 crore reported in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
The company’s total income also took a sharp decline of 68% to Rs 599 crore in Q4 FY26 from Rs 1,876 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Alongside the quarterly results, Bharat Dynamics declared a final dividend of Rs 0.40 per share with a face value of Rs 5 each for the financial year ending March 31, 2026.
Bharat Dynamics’ shares closed 3.51% lower at Rs 1,283.40 per share on the BSE before the results announcement. The company’s stock has shown volatility recently due to weak market sentiment, with a 1.57% decline over the past week and a 5.65% decrease in the last two weeks. On a monthly basis, the stock has fallen by 1.43%, and year-to-date, it has dropped by 13.33%.
