Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao stated that the recent municipal elections in Telangana showcase the increasing trust of the people in BRS and reveal significant dissatisfaction with the Congress government.
Despite facing alleged pressure, misuse of resources, and intimidation from the ruling party, BRS achieved notable victories, establishing itself as a key political entity in urban local bodies. KTR expressed gratitude towards party members, supporters, and voters for their unwavering support.
In a surprising turn, the electorate in Telangana, contrary to the norm favoring the ruling party in local elections, demonstrated a different sentiment. BRS secured direct wins in 15 municipalities and emerged as the largest party in 10 to 15 other municipalities, solidifying its political influence.
Reflecting on past successes, KTR highlighted BRS’s performance in the 2020 municipal elections, where it secured numerous mayor and chairperson positions. He also pointed out the party’s recent achievements in Panchayat elections, emphasizing the strengthening of BRS’s standing following the municipal poll results.
Accusing Congress leaders of attempting to sway election outcomes through unethical means, KTR affirmed BRS’s commitment to combat such tactics through political and legal channels. He also mentioned strategic collaborations with CPI in specific regions to address alleged irregularities in Singareni coal operations and expressed openness to partnering with secular forces to counter Congress and BJP influence in local governance.
