Bhavesh Shekhawat has taken an early lead in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event at the National Selection Trials T3. He secured a total of 294 – 11x (99,99,96) in the first stage, putting him in the top position. Anish Bhanwala and Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu followed closely, both shooting 291-11x (97,98,96) and 291 (96,98,97) respectively.
Olympian Anish Bhanwala secured the second spot with his score, while Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu took third place. Suraj Sharma, the National Champion, followed with a score of 290-9x (98,95,97). The competition is fierce as India’s top shooters are vying for spots in the national squad for upcoming international events.
The National Selection Trials 3 (Group A) features 10 events, including all eight Olympic events and rifle prone competitions for men and women. The trials aim to select athletes for international competitions in the latter part of the year. Rifle/Pistol Selection Trials 3 and 4 for Group B athletes have also begun, scheduled until March 22, 2026, in Bhopal.
