The BHIM app, supported by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has partnered with TransUnion CIBIL to offer users the ability to view their credit scores alongside their daily transactions. This new feature on version 4.0.19 and above of the app allows users to access their CIBIL Score and Credit Information Report without leaving the platform. The integration ensures that users can monitor their credit health conveniently within the app.
With a consent-based model in place, users have control over their credit data access, as information is only retrieved after their explicit approval. This move aims to shift the BHIM app’s focus from everyday payments to promoting broader financial awareness. The collaboration between TransUnion CIBIL and NPCI BHIM Services Ltd emphasizes simplicity and user control in the credit space, aligning with the app’s core principles.
The BHIM app, developed by NPCI BHIM Services Ltd, caters to users in both urban and rural areas across India in over 15 languages. Offering various features like expense splitting, family mode, and spending analytics, the app has become a versatile platform for UPI payments. In a recent development, the app introduced biometric authentication for UPI payments, allowing users to authenticate transactions using fingerprint or facial recognition for amounts up to Rs 5,000.
