Sunil Kumar, the father of a young man who tragically lost his life in the Amar Colony shooting in South Delhi, is pleading for justice and demanding severe measures against those accountable for his son’s demise. He emphasized that the perpetrators should face consequences akin to the encounters witnessed in Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.
Expressing his anguish, Sunil Kumar stated, “My son was simply out for a meal when he was fatally shot by some miscreants. I implore the authorities to take decisive action against the guilty parties.” The victim, identified as Sai, was with friends at a restaurant in Amar Colony when he was allegedly shot in the head by a group of attackers about a week ago.
Sunil Kumar urged prompt action from the government and law enforcement against the perpetrators. He insisted, “Just like encounters in Uttar Pradesh, similar stringent measures should be taken against these criminals. They took my son’s life, and they must face the consequences. What befell my son today could happen to another’s child tomorrow.”
He also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for justice, highlighting, “If a political leader’s son faced such a tragedy, the culprits would not escape punishment.” According to the victim’s father, Sai and his friends were at the restaurant waiting for others to join them when some young men allegedly harassed a female friend in their group. When Sai intervened, the men reportedly threatened him before returning later to fatally shoot him.
Sunil Kumar disclosed that the Delhi Police have apprehended three suspects in connection with the incident, with additional names emerging during the investigation. He further alleged that the accused individuals have political backing. Sai, a Class 12 student who usually remained at home after attending tuition classes, was described by his father, who reiterated the call for justice.
