Bihar Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha recently visited Gopalganj, where he attended a meeting to review the district’s development projects and welfare schemes. He highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing agriculture and horticulture sectors by ensuring effective program implementation and supporting farmers’ income growth. Sinha reassured farmers about the availability of fertilizers during the current agricultural season, emphasizing strict measures against hoarding and black marketing to maintain a smooth supply chain.
Amid global uncertainties in the petroleum market due to the US-Iran conflict, Sinha pointed out the potential impact on the fertilizer industry, which heavily relies on petroleum-based feedstocks. Any disruption in energy supply could lead to production challenges and increased costs, affecting the agriculture sector. Sinha acknowledged the cooperation from local communities and stakeholders in Bihar, emphasizing the government’s focus on sustainable agriculture practices and farmer support to boost productivity and income.
