The affidavits submitted by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha nominees Tarun Chugh and Rajnish Kumar Agrawal from Madhya Pradesh have unveiled detailed information about their assets, incomes, and professional backgrounds as they gear up for the upcoming elections. Both candidates lodged their nominations on Saturday.
Rajnish Kumar Agrawal’s affidavit reveals movable assets worth about Rs 59.59 lakh in his name, with his wife Garima Vijayvargiya possessing assets valued at Rs 32.12 lakh. Additionally, Agrawal owns agricultural and non-agricultural land in Lateri tehsil of Vidisha district, totaling around Rs 2 crore in movable and immovable assets.
Operating the “Ruchi Gas Agency,” Agrawal holds significant funds in his bank accounts, including over Rs 24 lakh in the agency’s current account. He also possesses 20 grams of gold, valued at Rs 3.21 lakh, with his wife owning 150 grams of gold jewelry worth Rs 24 lakh. Agrawal, a postgraduate in Broadcast Journalism, reported an income of Rs 9.92 lakh for 2024-25, with no criminal cases against him.
On the other hand, senior BJP leader Tarun Chugh declared movable and immovable assets worth approximately Rs 22 crore, with over Rs 8 crore in his name. Chugh’s affidavit lists immovable assets of Rs 4.38 crore in his name and Rs 2.90 crore in his wife’s name, excluding family firm holdings. He reported an income of Rs 36.97 lakh for 2024-25, while his wife’s income stood at Rs 73.77 lakh, with no pending criminal cases against him.
