The Bihar Anti-Terrorism Squad has apprehended Mohammad Mustafa from Muzaffarpur on suspicions of collaborating with Pakistan-based individuals, raising concerns about national security. Mustafa, accused of engaging with anti-India elements, was reportedly in direct communication with Shehzad Bhatti, an arms smuggler, and his associates. The arrest followed intelligence inputs on alleged anti-national activities received by the ATS.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Mustafa utilized social media platforms and encrypted messaging apps to communicate with foreign handlers. Upon examining his mobile phone, objectionable and anti-national content was discovered by ATS technical teams. Deleted data analysis revealed frequent interactions with Shehzad Bhatti and another associate, Rana Hunain.
Authorities found incriminating videos, images, and digital content related to sensitive Indian locations on Mustafa’s phone. Initial findings indicate that he recorded visuals of restricted areas and shared them, along with precise geographical details, with Pakistani contacts. A comprehensive probe is ongoing, focusing on Mustafa’s travel history, digital devices, social media engagements, financial transactions, and domestic as well as international connections.
A case has been filed against Mohammad Mustafa in Muzaffarpur under charges related to espionage, anti-national activities, and national security. Legal proceedings are in progress as Bihar Police emphasizes continued stringent actions against individuals posing threats to the nation’s security, sovereignty, and integrity.
