A meeting of the Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, approved 45 proposals covering higher education, judicial infrastructure, urban development, and tourism. Among the approvals were plans for five new private universities in various districts of Bihar, aimed at enhancing higher education opportunities in the state. Additionally, the Cabinet sanctioned the construction of new court complexes in four districts, including Maharajganj, to bolster judicial infrastructure and facilitate court proceedings.
The newly approved private universities include Shanja University in Madhubani district, a university in Siwan district, SA University in Ashok Nagar, Nawada, Himalaya University in Patna, and Sityog University in Aurangabad. These institutions are expected to contribute to strengthening the higher education landscape in Bihar and providing more educational options for students. Furthermore, the government allocated funds for the development of court buildings in Maharajganj, Begusarai, and Rajauli to improve access to judicial services and expedite legal procedures.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also announced administrative approval for the Chhapra Sewerage Network Project, with an allocated budget of Rs 76.48 crore under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. This initiative aims to enhance sewerage infrastructure, sanitation systems, and urban services in Chhapra. The recent decisions taken by the Bihar Cabinet underscore the government’s commitment to enhancing educational institutions, upgrading judicial infrastructure, boosting tourism, and improving urban facilities in the state.
During the previous Cabinet meeting on June 17, the government greenlit 29 agenda items, including initiatives to support tourism and enhance public services. Notably, the Cabinet approved schemes such as the Sindhu Darshan pilgrimage assistance scheme for 2026, offering financial aid of Rs 20,000 per traveler, and the Heli-Tourism and Tourism Service Scheme 2026.
