A meeting of the Council of Ministers in Bihar, led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, approved 20 key proposals at the Main Secretariat. Chief Minister Choudhary, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, attended the half-hour meeting. Among the decisions, the Cabinet sanctioned Rs 15,967.03 crore for road maintenance covering 19,305 km across the state.

The Cabinet also facilitated the transfer of land from the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority to the Airports Authority of India for airport-related infrastructure development. Additionally, the extension of the ‘Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package’ till June 30, 2026, was approved due to significant investor interest in the state. Furthermore, the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sitamarhi will be named “Maa Sita Medical College and Hospital, Sitamarhi” to honor the region’s cultural significance.

Moreover, land in Arwal and Sheikhpura districts has been allocated to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for school building construction at a nominal lease rent of Re 1 for 30 years, with provisions for renewal. The Cabinet’s swift decision-making process was highlighted as earlier meetings had approved 22 and 64 proposals respectively, showcasing efficient governance. The Bihar Cabinet’s expansion, led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, is set for May 7 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, with the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for 12.10 p.m.
