The Bihar Cabinet expansion, spearheaded by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, is scheduled to occur on Wednesday after crucial discussions with NDA leadership in Delhi. The party high command has granted final approval to the list of ministers, paving the way for the Cabinet expansion in Bihar.
Upon returning to Patna from New Delhi, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary engaged in significant meetings with senior NDA leaders. Notably, during his visit, he met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and other key alliance leaders.
Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony are underway at Gandhi Maidan, with stage decoration and logistical arrangements in progress. A Cabinet meeting is slated for 5 p.m. on the same day, marking the initial gathering involving the newly appointed ministers.
The Cabinet formation is expected to prioritize caste and regional equilibrium, incorporating both seasoned and fresh faces, and ensuring adequate representation for women. This expansion aims to strike a balance between continuity and change, focusing on enhancing governance and political engagement.
The upcoming expansion is set to emphasize caste balance, experience, and the inclusion of new faces, with a mix of seasoned leaders and young entrants, alongside a strong emphasis on women’s representation. Notably, Nitish Kumar resigned from the Bihar Legislative Council on March 30, paving the way for a significant political transition as he readied for his role in the Rajya Sabha.
Samrat Choudhary assumed office as the first-ever Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Minister of Bihar, marking the end of Nitish Kumar’s 21-year tenure.
