Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary visited the renowned Vishnupad Temple in Gaya on Buddha Purnima. He conducted rituals at the temple and then inspected various infrastructure and development projects in the area. The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the Vishnupad Corridor project aimed at improving facilities for pilgrims and promoting religious tourism.
After his temple visit, Chief Minister Choudhary examined the Falgu River and the Gaya Rubber Dam to assess the ongoing works and local conditions. He received updates from officials regarding the development projects in the region. Earlier in the day, he arrived at Gandhi Maidan in Gaya by helicopter and attended a special program titled “Religious Harmony in Indian Tradition” at the Shankaracharya Math.
During the event, which was part of a national seminar and cultural awareness initiative, the Chief Minister served as the Chief Guest. The Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Prem Kumar, was also present. Stringent security measures were implemented in Gaya and Bodh Gaya due to the Chief Minister’s visit and the large number of devotees on Buddha Purnima.
To ensure security and manage the crowd effectively, general devotees were temporarily restricted from entering the temple before the Chief Minister’s arrival. The visit also included a stop in Nalanda district, where the Chief Minister performed rituals at a local temple in Sarmera block. He emphasized the government’s commitment to education reforms, announcing plans to establish model schools and colleges across all 534 blocks of Bihar.
Highlighting past achievements, Chief Minister Choudhary mentioned the ‘State Fair’ status granted to the birthplace of Baba Sharan Mahto in 2018 by former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The government aims to bring investments worth Rs 5 lakh crore into Bihar by November 20 and create job opportunities for one crore people between 2025 and 2030.
