Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary led discussions on India–Nepal border management and civil aviation infrastructure in the state at two high-level meetings in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The Chief Minister emphasized the sensitivity of the India–Nepal border during the security review meeting and stressed the need for strict surveillance and security measures, advanced technology usage, and vigilance against illegal activities like narcotics trafficking and smuggling. He underlined a zero-tolerance policy towards laxity and called for robust enforcement against all unlawful actions in border regions.
At a separate meeting, CM Choudhary, along with officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Bihar’s Civil Aviation Department, reviewed aviation projects. Discussions included initiatives such as airport modernization, enhancing air connectivity, strengthening security infrastructure, and implementing the UDAN Scheme. The focus was on proposals like expanding and enhancing the capacity of Patna Airport, upgrading Darbhanga Airport to international status, and developing new airports in various Bihar districts to boost air connectivity. The Chief Minister expressed a vision to significantly increase air connectivity in Bihar and transform the state into a key aviation hub in eastern India within the next five years. He urged officials to expedite the expansion of Patna Airport and assured cooperation with the central government.
