Patna, Aug 14 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary reached Haveli Kharagpur in Munger district on Friday to participate in a special Tiranga Yatra organised ahead of Independence Day.

His arrival sparked enthusiasm among BJP workers, NDA supporters and local residents.

The streets of Kharagpur were filled with people carrying the Tricolour and raising slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

A large number of workers and residents had gathered since morning to welcome the Chief Minister and participate in the procession.

The Tiranga Yatra passed through the city’s main roads, with the Tricolour being prominently displayed along the route.

The participation of local youth and residents added to the festive and patriotic atmosphere.

Several prominent leaders and representatives of the ruling alliance participated in the programme, including Minister-in-Charge Sanjay Kumar, local MLA Kumar Prannoy, Nachiketa Mandal, Legislative Councilor Lalmohan Gupta, BJP district president Arun Kumar Poddar, JD(U) district president Saurabh Nidhi, and LJP (Ram Vilas) national secretary Mithlesh Singh.

Given the Chief Minister’s participation and the large gathering, the local administration made extensive security arrangements.

Police personnel were deployed along the procession route to regulate traffic and maintain law and order.

The Tiranga Yatra turned Haveli Kharagpur into a vibrant display of national pride, while also drawing significant political participation from leaders and workers of the ruling alliance.

Earlier in the day, Samrat Choudhary took to social media to share his participation in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call, Choudhary hoisted the national flag at his official residence in Patna and paid tribute to the immortal martyrs who sacrificed their lives during India’s freedom struggle.

In his post, Choudhary urged citizens to join the nationwide campaign by hoisting the Tricolour at their homes and sharing their photographs on social media with the hashtag #HarGharTiranga.

He appealed to people to turn the campaign into a movement of public participation and spread the spirit of patriotism among every citizen.
