Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently visited the under-construction Danapur-Bihta Elevated Road project in Patna to oversee progress and provide guidance to officials. During his inspection near Kanhauli village, Kumar evaluated the work’s speed and quality, emphasizing the importance of timely completion without compromising on construction standards. He received updates from senior officials and directed the team to expedite the project to meet the set deadline.
The Danapur-Bihta Elevated Corridor, situated on NH-922, is a significant four-lane initiative covering around 25 kilometers, with the objective of enhancing connectivity to the upcoming Bihta airport. Valued at over Rs 1,969 crore, the project is slated for completion by September 2026. Notably, it features a 14.5-km-long flyover, one of the longest elevated stretches in eastern India, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion and fostering regional progress.
Once operational, the corridor is anticipated to alleviate traffic woes for commuters traveling between Danapur and Bihta, a bustling area in Patna, thereby reducing travel time significantly. The elevated road will link Danapur Railway Station, Shiwala Chowk, and Bihta airport, facilitating access to key institutions like IIT Patna and NIT Patna. It will also bolster connectivity to Koilwar and western Bihar, supporting future infrastructure growth, including the proposed Bihta civil enclave.
The project’s completion is set to enhance urban mobility in Patna and neighboring areas, while also improving long-distance connectivity to Delhi and other regions.
