Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary recently met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other NDA leaders in New Delhi to discuss the imminent cabinet expansion in the state. The meeting with Amit Shah holds significance as his approval is crucial for finalizing the list of ministers. While officially termed a courtesy call, the discussions are believed to have revolved around the proposed cabinet expansion.
Deliberations during the meeting focused on the potential induction of new leaders into the cabinet and the distribution of portfolios. The urgency for expansion arises from the current Bihar cabinet consisting of only three members, including the Chief Minister. Following the meeting, Samrat Choudhary shared on social media platform X that he met with Amit Shah and received guidance on security, good governance, and Bihar’s overall development.
Samrat Choudhary assumed office as Chief Minister on April 15, along with two Deputy Chief Ministers from the Janata Dal (United) quota. With just three ministers in office currently, the necessity for expansion has become more pressing. During his Delhi visit, the Chief Minister engaged in detailed discussions with senior BJP leaders and NDA representatives on Bihar’s political landscape, development progress, and organizational strengthening. Feedback was also exchanged on law and order, anti-corruption measures, and enhancing administrative efficiency in the state. Prior to his Delhi trip, Samrat Choudhary met former Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in Patna, where discussions on the cabinet expansion reportedly took place.
