Kumar commended Nitish Kumar for his unwavering dedication to justice, progress, and comprehensive growth, particularly in reforming the education framework.
Under the approved ‘Seven Resolves-3’ initiative, education has been accorded paramount importance, with plans to establish a model school in each block of Bihar. The government is actively working on modernizing degree colleges and older educational institutions to elevate academic standards and infrastructure. Addressing the prior teacher shortage issue, Sunil Kumar noted a substantial improvement, with the current count of teachers and headmasters surpassing 2.27 lakh due to extensive recruitments.
Efforts are underway to further bolster the teaching workforce through additional appointments under TRE-4. Noteworthy welfare measures include direct fund transfers to 4,663 students under various scholarship schemes, resulting in a mere 1% school dropout rate. Special initiatives are targeting girls’ education promotion, alongside a focus on capacity building and training post the teacher recruitment surge. The government is actively enhancing teaching quality through workshops, training programs, and the introduction of modern educational tools like smart classrooms and bilingual textbooks.
Ensuring timely distribution of books and school kits, the government has already provided textbooks to 1.19 crore students. Future endeavors will concentrate on advancing higher education, with significant progress in resolving academic session delays in select universities. Sunil Kumar highlighted the satisfactory matriculation and intermediate examination results, underscoring stringent actions against negligent teachers or staff. Concluding the briefing, Kumar affirmed the government’s steadfast commitment to propelling Bihar towards progress and assured the successful realization of all ‘Seven Resolves-3’ objectives in the upcoming years.
