The Bihar government, under Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, has unveiled a new initiative to hire 100,000 teachers in the next five years. This plan includes appointing around 20,000 teachers annually, with recruitment advertisements set to be released each July for a streamlined process. A recent high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence in Patna involved Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari and senior Education department officials.
Chief Minister Choudhary emphasized the need for a transparent teacher transfer policy, suggesting that female teachers be transferred to nearby panchayats within their block and district, while male teachers should move to adjacent blocks within their district. These measures aim to make teacher postings more practical and family-friendly, ensuring transparency in transfers. Additionally, the government announced various initiatives to enhance education quality and administrative transparency in Bihar’s schools.
In a bid to improve educational infrastructure and promote inclusive development, the Bihar government will now provide school uniforms through the Jeevika Self Help Group. This move not only ensures timely uniform distribution to students statewide but also empowers women by creating livelihood opportunities through self-help groups under Jeevika. Chief Minister Choudhary highlighted that these steps are geared towards enhancing teacher availability and upgrading educational facilities across Bihar.
The decision to recruit 100,000 teachers follows demands from BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination aspirants for teacher notifications in Bihar. Chief Minister Choudhary’s actions are aimed at addressing these concerns and improving the overall educational landscape in the state.
