The Bihar Home Department has undertaken a significant administrative overhaul by transferring 71 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. An official notification issued by the General Administration Department announced these changes. Notably, Preeta Verma, a 1991-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Director General of the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation in Patna, shifting from her previous role as the Director General (Training) of Bihar Police.
Kundan Krishnan, a 1994-batch IPS officer, previously serving as Additional Director General (ADG) for Headquarters and Operations, has been promoted to the position of Director General (Operations). He has also been assigned the additional responsibility of overseeing the Special Branch of the Bihar Police. Another 1994-batch IPS officer, R. Malar Willy, who was serving as ADG of the Bihar Police Training Institute at Rajgir, has been reassigned as the Bihar ADG of the Special Armed Force.
Further changes include Amit Kumar Jain, formerly the ADG of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), being transferred to the role of ADG of the Liquor Prohibition Department. Sunil Kumar, who previously held the position of Bihar ADG Special Branch, has been reassigned as the State ADG Headquarters. Kamal Kishore Singh, serving as the ADG in the Budget and Police Welfare, has been given additional responsibilities as the ADG of the Railways Department.
At the Inspector General (IG) level, Ranjeet Kumar Mishra, the former IG of the Bihar Special Armed Force, has been moved to the IG position of the Cyber Crime Security Unit. Meanwhile, Manoj Kumar, IG of Saharsa Range, has been relocated to the Police Headquarters in Patna. The reshuffle extends to the district level as well, with Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) being transferred and appointed in various districts across Bihar.
