Bihar Road Construction Minister Kumar Shailendra responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for fuel conservation by arriving at his office in an e-rickshaw. This move aims to promote eco-friendly transportation and encourage the public to embrace alternative travel options. Following the PM’s appeal, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also addressed the matter during a cabinet meeting.
Kumar Shailendra expressed his commitment to using alternative and sustainable modes of transport for at least two days weekly. He emphasized his decision to exclusively use an e-rickshaw for all official activities, including cabinet sessions and meetings with senior officials. The Minister highlighted his extensive travel across 10 districts before returning to the departmental headquarters for the first time since assuming office.
He outlined his agenda for the day, which included various meetings such as a cabinet session and a discussion with the Chief Minister, all to be attended via the same eco-friendly transport mode. Kumar Shailendra further discussed the state government’s Sahyog Shivir initiative, designed to assist citizens who may face challenges in directly engaging with ministers or officials. The initiative involves outreach programs at different administrative levels to address public grievances effectively.
